Grayton Beach Named a Top 10 Best Beach for 2019

It’s no secret to locals that we have some of the most gorgeous beaches around. Soft, sugar white sand with emerald green water makes you feel as if you’re away on a tropical island rather than here in Florida. Every year, there are new lists of best vacation spots, restaurants, weekend getaways, day trips and even best beaches. CNN Travel published an article releasing popular Dr. Beach’s annual list of best beaches and our own Grayton Beach made the list!

Stephen Leatherman (Dr. Beach) is a coastal sciences professor and ranks beaches each year using 50 criteria. He takes into consideration the sand, water temperature, rip currents, and litter, among many other things. The 2019 list of best beaches names Grayton Beach at number 3. With many beautiful beaches along the Florida Panhandle, this one stands out with almost 2,000 acres to explore. The article adds, “In addition to its pristine shoreline, the park offers cabins, campgrounds, more than four miles of coastal forest trails and Western Lake, a coastal dune lake, for fishing and paddling.”  

Grayton Beach offers plenty for the whole family to enjoy. Live music, fine dining, and charming boutiques can all be found just a bike ride away.
