Your 30A Summer Bucket List

The beach is a place you can enjoy year-round but the summertime is definitely a top season to visit. Kids are out of school, it’s warm and sunny, and there are plenty of fun events to enjoy. After booking your 30A vacation rental, it’s time to decide what will be on your itinerary. Here are some of our favorite things to do that you need to add to your summer bucket list.

Sunrise Ice Cream & Candy – New to Gulf Place on 30A, Sunrise Ice Cream & Candy is now open and offers everything your sweet tooth could ever imagine. A wall of jelly beans, build your own ice cream menu, milkshakes, and root beer floats are among the many options and you’ll want to try it all. Besides satisfying all your cravings, there are also arcade games to enjoy. It’s located right across from the beach so it’s the perfect place to cool off with a sundae!

Happy Hour at Surfing Deer – Surfing Deer is a popular place for dinner and has an upscale menu of fabulous dishes by Executive Chef, Greggory Smith. It’s one of the best places in town for seafood including Chef Gregg’s Famous Crab Cakes, Sesame Seared Ahi Tuna, Caramelized Sea Scallops. If you get there before dinnertime from 5-6:30, you can enjoy a number of Happy Hour specials. Try a Tennessee Apple Mule or Prickly Margarita with a cup of Braised Duck Gumbo or delicious Brisket Burger. All items on the Happy Hour Menu are under $8!

Watersound Origins Events – Every Tuesday and Sunday, you can enjoy live music or theatre at the Village Commons Lawn. On Tuesdays, the Emerald Coast Theatre Company presents interactive shows for the entire family. On Sundays from 4pm-6pm, there will be live music from local artists including Huck & Lilly, Casey Kearney, and The Blu Jays.

Trivia Tuesdays – Every Tuesday evening at the Craft Bar 30A, you can show off during a weekly trivia game while drinking delicious brews. There is a different theme each week with prizes including bar tabs, swag, growlers, and gift cards. Grab your friends and family and come down for a friendly challenge of wits.

Beach Games – We all know the main attraction is the beach and you can spend hours playing in the waves or building sand castles. It seems like each time we’re there, we see a new game that’s even more popular than the last. Spikeball seems to be all the rage and consists of just a little netted trampoline and three balls. Pro Kadima is another fun portable game that is great for the beach. If you have friends with cornhole boards, the bean bag toss game has been taking over beaches since last summer. Everything is more fun under the sun!

There’s much more to mark off your 30A list for the rest of the year but these are some things you have to try this summer. Add some warm, sunny weather and a gorgeous backdrop and it will be your best summer yet!
