Things to do With Dad This Father’s Day

Take it from us, Dad wants to be at the beach this Father’s Day. The Emerald Coast is the perfect place to celebrate Dad and the whole family will love it! 30A beaches attract people year-round with clear, blue-green water and soft, sugar white sand. There are few places in the country that can offer such beauty. But that’s not all there is to offer around here. We’ve put together some things that local dads love to do and we guarantee your dad will as well.

Golfing – Whether you’re good at it or not, most of us can enjoy a game of golf. It can be a relaxing hobby or an exciting challenge. The Emerald Coast features championship golf courses and is a main attraction to our area. From beginner to experienced, there are several locations to hit the links with the guys and enjoy a day in the warm Florida sunshine.

Craft Beer – In recent years, the craft beer scene has picked up quite a bit around town. On 30A, we have Growler Garage that is located right across from the beach. They boast an extensive menu of craft beers and wines on tap. Bring by a Growler and get it filled with your favorite brew and head to the beach! The Destin Brewery was established in 2015 and has a tasting room for the public open Tuesday through Saturday. Enjoy their signature Destin Ale or East Pass IPA while playing Corn Hole or giant Jenga.

Fishing – Destin is well-known for its fishing and there are many areas available to cast a line. Whether you’re fishing from the beach at your own vacation home or going out on a charter, you’ll make plenty of great memories and may even catch dinner for the crew. Snapper Season just started! 

Festivals – If you plan in advance, you can attend one of the many fun festivals we have throughout the year. The 30A Songwriters Festival is always early in the year and brings musicians from around the country for a long weekend of live performances. The 30A Wine Festival is in Alys Beach in February with four days of delicious drinks, food, and fun. There are also beer festivals, art festivals, and so much more to keep you entertained no matter when you visit. 

Dinner at Home – Beat the crowds and the wait by cooking Dad’s favorite meal at home! When was the last time you got to cook for him? 30A vacation rentals are spacious with room for the whole family so you’ll get to enjoy more time together. Grab some steaks to throw on the grill, some fresh fish, or pick up shrimp and crab legs to bring back to the condo. It doesn’t get much better than fresh seafood! 

We want our parents to know they’re special to us every day and just carving out some time from our busy schedules will likely mean a lot to them. But this year, take it up a notch and spend Father’s Day with them at the beach. There’s something for everyone so Dad, Mom, and the kids will have a great time making lasting memories.
