Things to Do in South Walton with Kids

Traveling with kids? We’ve got you covered. There’s plenty to do along the Gulf Coast for people of all ages and just because you have the little ones with you doesn’t mean you can’t have fun. Here are some of our favorite things to do in the 30A area with our families:

Buddy’s Bike Rentals and Beach Shop is a great stop for two reasons: you can rent bikes AND get ice cream. Grab a bike for the day and pull your tot behind you in a little bike taxi and have a stroll down beautiful 30A. When you return your bike, choose from 32 ice cream flavors and get a cup or cone (or a pint to go!) to surely make your kid’s day.  

You can spend the day at one of the local parks which have much more than just swings and slides. Padgett Park has lots of room to run around, a playground, and a huge splash pad. Bring extra clothes because you cannot keep the kids away once they see those fountains. Helen McCall Park has plenty to do with several swings, see-saws, big kid AND little kid playground areas, and a fun splash pad. Let the kids get all of their energy out after riding around in the car.

Speaking of getting their energy out, Gulf Place lawn is a great place to let the kids run free. The huge lawn has plush, green grass and it’s the perfect place to throw a ball, a Frisbee, or fly a kite. Also a Gulf Place are Sunrise Coffee Shop and Pizza by the Sea. Pizza and ice cream are ideal treats to complete your fun day.

When everyone is tired from the running around, check out an outdoor movie at The Hub 30A. Every Wednesday night, bring a lawn chair or blanket to the Hub and enjoy a popular movie under the stars. Each week at 6pm, a family-friendly movie is played outside with onsite snacks and drinks available to purchase.  

Most of us look back fondly on our childhood vacations. Add a couple of these in your itinerary to give your family awesome new memories. Now you just need to pick a 30A vacation rental nearby and you have the perfect vacation!
